Note

You can use SD cards with capacities between 8MB and 1GB on this unit.

Preparation

1 Connect the external unit (⇒ page 34).

2 Turn on the power.

3 Insert the SD card (⇒ page 8) or the cassette tape (⇒ page 19).

4 If recording to SD card, press [REC MODE] to select XP, SP or LP

mode.

• With satellite and cable sources, tune to the desired broadcasting

station.

(Normal recording only)

1 Press [TUNER/AUX] to select “AUX”.

2 Press [EDIT MODE] to select a recording method.

3 While pressing [*/h REC], press [SD, -HI-SPEED

CD q SD].

MANUAL/TIME MARK: Recording starts.

SYNCHRO: Goes to recording standby.

4 Start play on the external source.

When you have selected “SYNCHRO”, recording starts when a signal

from the sound source is received

(Normal recording only)

1 Press [TUNER/AUX] to select “AUX”.

2 While pressing [*/h REC], press [TAPE] to start

recording.

3 Start play on the external source.

(For details, refer to the external unit’s operating instructions.)

To change the input level

Before recording external sources with low volume to a SD card or a

cassette tape

1 Start play on the external source.

2 Press [TUNER/AUX] to select “AUX”.

3 Press [PLAY MODE, –REPEAT].

Note

• There may be an error in the recording time depending on the sound

source and the recording method.

• When you have selected “SYNCHRO”, recording pauses if a 3-second

silence is detected, then starts again when play starts. A track mark is

added at the point recording starts.

• Depending on the type of tracks being recorded, the beginning of tracks

may be cut off or recording of tracks with low volume may stop partway

when you have selected “SYNCHRO” mode. Select “MANUAL” if this

happens.

• Recording automatically stops when the end of the side of the tape

being recorded to is reached.
